Malham Tarn Cove lands the spoils at Bath Steph Hollinshead Racing

Malham Tarn Cove (Heeraat x Spirit Of Rosanna) went off as favourite and justified the odds by cruising to victory in the ‘Octagon Consultancy Handicap’ (Div II) (Class 6) (0-55, 4yo+) over  5½ furlongs on good ground at Bath yesterday (Friday 24th May 2024), for owner breeder Jim

Mally finally got his head in front after a third of his runs had resulted in trips to the winners enclosure to claim 2nd and 3rd places respectively. With Dougie Costello onboard, our 5 year old was prominent from the start to soon lead the pack and stay out in front to get the job done finishing 1.5 lengths clear of the 2nd placed horse.

“It was a lovely run from Mally who was only narrowly beaten last time out on the 15th May at Bath. Today he showed his ability to get out in front and dictate the race. I thought the run was very reminiscent of his mother Spirit of Rosanna’s (Hellvelyn x Tharwa) last race and victory at Brighton back in 2017,” said Steph.

“I’m so chuffed for Jim Holcombe the owner breeder who is another loyal supporter of the yard, he loves his horses and is a regular visitor to Catmint Lodge Stables,” added Steph.
