Angel Shared claims her first victory at Haydock Steph Hollinshead Racing

Angel Shared (Harry Angel x Quelle Affaire),won her first race yesterday (Thursday 7th September) at Haydock in the ‘Clarke & Sons Nursery Handicap (Class 5) (0-68, 2yo) over 5f’ on good ground, and was also judged best turned out in the parade ring.

The 2 year old filly ridden by Dougie Costello broke out well and took an early lead before pulling away within the final furlong despite a challenge from the joint favourite Be Here Now.

Angel was purchased last year at Tattersalls October Book 4 sale for just £9,000 by Steph, for long time supporter of the yard David Hodson, who heads up the syndicate Beaudesert Racing 1, for which she runs under the colours of.

“I was really thrilled to see Angel get her head in front. She’s a late foal born in May which puts her at a disadvantage in 2 year old races, however despite her immaturity, she is consistent and really coming on. We will continue with our plan of putting her away for the winter in order for her to grow and strengthen in readiness for next years campaign,” said Steph.
